Alright, next round of questions and answers:
Q: How do you get through when you know that your spouse cheated; you are still with him and he won't go talk to someone with you?
A: Go yourself, immediately, and keep going whether he does or not. While trusted friends are invaluable during this time, you'll need professional counseling to assist in your own healing which is important as you navigate the future of your marriage.
Q: I lost my job and have endless opportunities at this time. How do I know what God's plan is for me?
A: Congrats! Cause 'endless opportunities' isn't the norm right now, so a healthy attitude of gratitude is in order! To a degree, the answer depends on the impact to the 'other significant' people in your life. The Bible encourages us to seek the WISE counsel from several; WISE is the key, and counsel is different from opinion. Strongly encourage you to read, The Principle of the Path.
Q: What's the difference between sex and making love?
A. Sex is taking for one's self. Making love is the giving of one's self. Sex may satisfy carnal pleasure but it can never satisfy the need for or the satisfaction of belonging and intimacy that God desires for us.
Q: How should finances be handled? Are all bills split half and half?
A: Only if the income is equally balanced. But, there isn't one correct answer. However, there should be a consensus between the couple. I do suggest avoiding the idea of "my check" and "her check." Remember, when you were married you promised to each other all that you have and are. Accounting for every penny may sound good, but that too can be too ridged and cause great stress. I suggest an amount agreed upon for each partner that doesn't have to be accounted for. Whether great or small based on the total income of the couple. It gives each one a measure of independence. But, agreement on allocation of monies will head off a lot of arguments. One last thought: responsible, competent, and reasonable people seek what is the highest and best for marriage.
That's all for now. We'll be back soon...
