I thought Elliot's message had many great points. As far as why is it easier to judge people than to love them????
In my experiences, I think I've judged people when I thought I knew better, or I was better, or something along those lines. I have learned that is only a self-deception to see people that way.
It was when I received love from the Lord for things that I judged myself on...there was a big change in this area. He showed me that in His forgiveness that He loves me and the judgement for my sin has already been paid. He (my heavenly father) has shown me why judging people is a very dark alley to go down. Judgement will come around and back to us. I have experienced it myself. When I've judged, it has come back around where I've reaped exactly what I sowed.
Praise God for working out all things for the good of those who love him. He used my experiences to bring me closer to him.
I am starting to get a glimse of what it's like to love other's in the flow of his love for and through me. It's a journey that I want to continue on.
Secondly, when I place judgement on someone, I am putting a low value on them as a person. That is not Christian character and it is not even true. The value that God puts on people of a very high value...enough to die for and enough to be an hier with Jesus to the kingdom of God. My judgements are no more than lies about the person that I'm judging. Lord, let me see the truth about people, your people, a highly valued people.
